With more than 30 years of experience focused on defining the subsurface heterogeneities that underly complex contaminated groundwater sites, I believe that a representative geologic model and a critical, quantitative understanding of contaminant processes is the most efficient approach to solving complex remediation problems.
During my tenure in environmental consulting, I developed and established the Environmental Sequence Stratigraphy (ESS) technology as a best practice in the environmental industry. ESS is a geology-focused method to define subsurface contaminant migration pathways that dramatically improves CSMs and groundwater remedial design and implementation effectiveness. ESS is the standard for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) base-wide CSM program and is considered a best practice for CSMs by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
I received my Bachelors of Science degree in geology from University of the Pacific, and my Master of Science degree in geology from U.C. Davis
