On September 1st, the EnviroSummit will host a golf tournament at The Golf Club at Ballantyne, which is about 20 minutes south of the Sheraton Hotel in uptown Charlotte.
The Golf Club at Ballantyne is among the finest PGA public golf courses in the region. Passionate about providing a destination golf experience, The Golf Club has continued to receive numerous accolades since inception including 4.5 Stars by Golf Digest and named as a top 50 Golf Resort by Golf World. The Golf Club at Ballantyne’s championship golf course is situated on a dynamic terrain, carefully crafted into the natural hills of the Piedmont.
The golf tournament will start at 8am so that we have enough time to get back to the Sheraton for the evening Kickoff Event with Rusty Wallace and Brian Patrick Wade. Our golf coordinators are two Carolina leaders in the environmental industry:
The cost is $79 per person and that includes greens fee, cart fee, and range balls. If you need to rent clubs, The Golf Club offers Titleist clubs at $59, which includes 6 balls. For more information or details, please contact either Scott Pearce or Neal McElveen.
During the golf tournament we are raising awareness for the Alport syndrome, which is a rare kidney disease that is genetically passed down in families from parents to children. Kent Armstong is the President of Terra Stryke and also a Bronze Sponsor of the EnviroSummit, and his wife and kids suffer from Alport syndrome. It’s estimated to affect 1 in every 5,000-10,000 people, which means that approximately 30,000-60,000 people in the United States are living with Alport syndrome.
The Alport Syndrome Foundation was formed in 2004 and they are the leading independent non-profit organization in the US educating and giving a voice the Alport syndrome community. If you would like to financially support the foundation by sponsoring a hole, please contact Kent Armstrong at (603) 731-3159 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
